New on DVD/Blu-Ray - GNOMEO AND JULIET

Romeo and Juliet with garden gnomes. Who would have though ? This animated feature is far from being an instant classic, but it does have its moments. At times it feels a bit too self-aware, which is simultaneously a good thing and a bad thing. One of the better things about the movie is the Elton John soundtrack. Overall, an unpretentious (some might even say simplistic) movie that should appeal to kids and bore the adults into a coma. Still, I guess you could do a lot worse.
