In Theaters, May 27, 2011 : THE HANGOVER PART 2

Official Synopsis : In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu's wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don't always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can't even be imagined. -- (C) Warner Bros

The Wolfpack is back in action.
What to Expect : The Hangover Part 1 all over again. Seriously, this movie is being held as a poster child for "how not to make a sequel". The gags have their moments, but mostly hinge on how outrageous and sick they are, while originality takes two steps back and cowers in the shadows of this over-hyped sequel. In the end it will make a lot of money, and that's all the producers ever wanted. A trilogy, they say ? Not like this, I hope.

Critical Response : According to the critics, the movie is more seriously damaged than its protagonists. The general consensus is that it wastes too much time imitating the first movie, while upping the raunchiness. Richard Roeper calls the movie "one of the most uninspired and unoriginal sequels you'll ever see". Alex Zane takes aim at the deranged characters, stating that "the more rational characters have lost any redeeming qualitites, and this makes the film hard to watch - for all the wrong reasons". There were some favorable reviews, like for example, Alison Gang of the San Diego Union-Tribune, who says that despite "plenty of deja vu moments,... before you know it, Phillips yanks you in an entirely unexpected direction, continually ramping up the stakes, the raunch and the visceral humor" and Bill Gibron of Filmcritic.com who comments that it "makes an excellent companion piece of the original". It is currently 33% fresh on Rottentomatoes.com, with 53 positive and 107 negative reviews.
