The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war. Director Paul W.S. Anderson ("Resident Evil", "Alien Vs. Predator", "Death Race") deals some more brain damage to the movie industry by dumbing down Dumas' novel to 3D levels. Of course Mila Jovovich is in it. Of course she performs some crazy acrobatics. Is this not a Paul W.S. Anderson movie ? The musketeers themselves perform some wicked combat moves that would make Neo himself cower in shame. Over the top is an understatement here. Christoph Waltz is in this as well as Cardinal Richelieu. Sure, he's already got an Oscar, but that's no reason to accept any work offering that comes his way. He's probably just having fun with his newly acquired fame, but I think he should choose his project more carefuly. Also starring are Luke Evans, Matthew MacFayden and Ray Stevenson. I still dream that perhaps some day, the illusion of 3D will be broken and the studios will stop throwing this kind of garbage our way. Release date is October 14, 2011.
