Another Stephen King's THE STAND movie !

Rumor has it that Warner Bros. and CBS Films will make a new movie based on Stephen King's The Stand, the story of a virus outbreak that decimates the population of the world, except a few survivors, who eventually take sides in the eternal battle between good and evil (quite literally). No other information is available at this moment. It's weird that they decided to adapt this novel again, considering it was already adapted as a pretty successful mini-series in 1994, starring Gary Sinise, Rob Lowe and Molly Ringwald. Besides, a feature film will contain considerably less material than the TV movie did (4 hours long), so how will the new adaptation fare with hardcore fans of the novel ? Or ar they trying to tap into the fanbase of the  2008 comic book adaptation ? I guess they are starting to run out of ideas over there in Hollywood.
