Dwayne Johnson to Star in NBC Comedy Inspired by His Life

Dwayne Johnson to Star in NBC Comedy Inspired by His Life
Dwayne Johnson is set to star in the upcoming TV series "Young Rock", which will focus on the mega-star's formative years. Johnson will appear in every episode of the single-camera comedy, which will be co-written by former "Fresh Off the Boat" showrunner Nahnatchka Khan and her longtime collaborator Jeff Chiang.

NBC has given "Young Rock" a straight-to-series order for 11 episodes. Johnson will serve as an executive producer alongside Khan, Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz and Jennifer Carreras.

Here's what Johnson had to say about the project: "We're gonna show the good, the bad, the ugly. But most importantly, we're gonna show the always funny".

Johnson recently starred in the HBO comedy series "Ballers" and can be seen on the big screen in "Jumanji: The Next Level". His upcoming big screen projects include Disney's "Jungle Cruise" and the comic book movie "Black Adam".
