The second season of the medical drama series "New Amsterdam" has premiered on September 24, 2019 on NBC. Created by David Schulner, based on Eric Manheimer's book "Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital", the show follows Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) as he becomes the medical director of one of the United States' oldest public hospitals, aiming to reform the neglected facility by tearing up its bureaucracy in order to provide exceptional care to patients. The cast also includes Janet Montgomery, Freema Agyeman, Tyler Labine and Anupam Kher.
