"Bless This Mess" is a new single-camera comedy series created by Elizabeth Meriwether and Lake Bell that stars Bell and Dax Shepard as a newlywed couple who plan to leave the big city for a quieter life in Nebraska. The show was originally ordered as a pilot on Fox a year ago, but was passed on by that network. It was eventually picked up by ABC in December. The first season will consist of six episodes. Bell also directs, and the show also stars Ed Begley, Pam Grier, JT Neal and Lennon Parham.

"Bless This Mess" premiered on April 16, 2019 on ABC.

"This new single-camera comedy follows newlyweds Rio and Mike as they make the decision to move from big city New York to rural Nebraska. After dropping everything (including their jobs and overbearing mother-in-law) to make the move from skyscrapers to farmhouses, they soon realize that the simpler life isn’t as easy as they planned. Rio and Mike must now learn how to weather the storm as they are faced with unexpected challenges in their new life as farmers.

The series stars Lake Bell as Rio, Dax Shepard as Mike, Ed Begley Jr. as Rudy, Pam Grier as Constance and JT Neal as Jacob.

The series is from 20th Century Fox Television and ABC Studios. Lake Bell and Elizabeth Meriwether are co-creators and executive producers. Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, Erin O’Malley, Katherine Pope and Dax Shepard serve as executive producers."
