The crime thriller "The Girl in the Spider's Web" is a reboot of the U.S. cinematic adaptation of Stieg Larsson's Millennium series. The previous film, David Fincher's "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo starred Rooney Mara as hacker Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist. Co-written and directed by Fede Alvarez ("Don't Breathe"), the reboot is based on the fourth novel in the series, which was written by David Lagercrantz.

For this new installment, Claire Foy takes over the role of Salander, while Sverrir Gudnason stars as Blomkvist. The two join forces to battle a web of spies, cyber-criminals and corrupt government officials. The film also stars Lakeith Stanfield, Stephen Merchant, Sylvia Hoeks, Vicky Krieps and Claes Bang.

"The Girl in the Spider's Web" opened in theaters on October 26, 2018 in Sweden, and on November 9, 2018 in the U.S. The film has received mixed reviews from critics and it's expected to debut with around $8 million at the box-office from 2,929 theaters. That doesn't sound like much, but the film has a modest $43 million budget. Fincher's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" cost $90 million to produce and grossed $232.6 million worldwide.
