A Showtime and Sky Atlantic co-production, "Patrick Melrose" is a five-episode limited series directed by Edward Berger ("Deutchland 83"), based on the book series written by Edward St. Aubyn. Each episode will follow one of the novels.
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular character, who struggles across several decades to overcome the damage inflicted by a horribly abusive father (Hugo Weaving) and the mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh) who tacitly condoned his behavior. The cast also includes Anna Madeley, Blythe Danner, Allison Williams, Pip Torrens, Jessica Raine, Prasanna Puwanarajah, Holliday Grainger, Indira Varma and Celia Imrie
"Patrick Melrose" premiered on May 12, 2018 on Showtime and received mostly positive reviews from critics. New episodes will also stream consecutively on CraveTV in Canada.

"In a tour de force role, Benedict Cumberbatch plays the titular character who struggles to overcome the damage inflicted by a horribly abusive father and the mother who tacitly condoned his behavior. Academy Award nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh (The Hateful Eight) and Screen Actors Guild® winner Hugo Weaving (The Matrix trilogy) also star as the parents of Patrick Melrose. Rounding out this accomplished cast are Anna Madeley (The Crown), Blythe Danner (Meet the Fockers), Allison Williams (Girls), Pip Torrens (The Crown), Jessica Raine (Call the Midwife), Prasanna Puwanarajah (Doctor Foster), Holliday Grainger (Bonnie & Clyde), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones) and Celia Imrie (Bridget Jones's Baby).
