The drama series "13 Reasons Why" is an adaptation of the homonymos book written by Jay Asher. The series follows Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette), a teenager who seeks to uncover the story behind his classmate and crush, Hannah (Katherine Langford), and her decision to end her life. Derek Luke, Kate Walsh, Amy Hargreaves, Christian Navarro, Justin Prentice and Brandon Flynn co-star.

The 13-episode first season was created and written by Pulitzer-winning playwright Brian Yorkey ("Next to Normal"), executive-produced by Selena Gomez, and directed by Tom McCarthy ("Spotlight"), Kyle Patrick Alvarez ("The Stanford Prison Experiment"), Gregg Araki ("Mysterious Skin"), Carl Franklin ("Devil in a Blue Dress") and Jessica Yu ("American Dreams").

All 13 episodes of "13 Reasons Why" and a special titled "13 Reasons Why: Beyond the Reasons" are now streaming on Netflix.

"Based on the best-selling books by Jay Asher, the Netflix Original Series 13 Reasons Why follows Clay Jensen (Dylan Minnette) as he returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker—his classmate and crush—who tragically committed suicide two weeks earlier. On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life.
