First Trailer for THE BEGUILED Starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell

Focus Features has released the first trailer for the period drama "The Beguiled". Written and directed by Sofia Coppola based on Thomas Cullinan's novel, the film tells the story of a Union soldier (Colin Farrell) imprisoned in a Confederate girls' boarding school, who cons his way into each of the lonely women's hearts, turning them against each other. Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Angourie Rice, Kirsten Dunst and Oona Laurence co-star.

The novel was adapted before, in the homonymous 1971 film directed by Don Siegel and starring Clint Eastwood.

"The Beguiled" opens in theaters on June 30th.

"The Beguiled, adapted by Sofia Coppola from Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name, unfolds in a girls’ school in the state of Virginia in 1864. As the Civil War rages, The Miss Martha Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies has been sheltered from the outside world— until the day a wounded Union soldier is discovered nearby and taken in."
