USA Network's new action series "Shooter" is based on Stephen Hunter's novel "Point of Impact, and also a reboot of sorts of the 2007 film of the same name starring Mark Wahlberg. Wahlberg is also one of the show's executive producers.
Created by "Underworld: Awakening" screenwriter John Hlavin, the series stars Ryan Phillippe as former Marine sniper Bob Lee Swagger, who is coaxed back from exile to help prevent a plot to kill the President, and ends up on the run when he becomes the central figure in a much larger conspiracy.
The cast also features Omar Epps, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Tom Sizemore, Eddie McClintock, Shantel VanSanten and Brian Ibsen.
"Shooter" premiered yesterday, and the next episode will air on November 22nd.

Starring Ryan Phillippe (“Secrets and Lies”), the series follows the courageous journey of Bob Lee Swagger, a highly-decorated ex-marine sniper who is coaxed back into action after he learns about a plot to kill the President. When Swagger’s former commanding officer Isaac Johnson (Omar Epps, “House”) solicits his expertise in a clandestine operation, Swagger re-emerges from exile only to discover that he is inextricably involved in a disastrous operation with ties to his past."
