This week in theaters, we have Clint Eastwood's biopic "Sully", and the do-not-screen-for-critics thrillers "When the Bough Breaks" and "The Disappointments Room". In limited release you can check out the Belgian animated feature "The Wild Life" based on Daniel Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe".

"When the Bough Breaks" has not been screened for critics, so I have nothing to sum up in terms of critical reception. However, that fact alone is a pretty good indication of the quality you can expect from this movie. The film has received a 4,7 score on IMDb from 23 users. This one probably won't be much of a box-office hit.

This is the second film this week that hasn't been screened for critics, but this one at least has a more decent 7,5 score on IMDb from 46 users. Still, proceed with caution since this film has been shelved by the studio for some time, and they usually do that for a very good reason.

THE WILD LIFE

This Belgian animated reimagining of "Robinson Crusoe" offers plenty to look at with its colorful animation and decent effects, but very little else to enjoy. The script is mediocre and falls short of the source material's greatness, but in the end it's just harmless entertainment for the kids.
