WILD CARD Trailer and Poster: Jason Statham and Sofia Vergara in New Action Thriller

The first trailer and poster for the action thriller "Wild Card" have been released. Jason Statham stars as a Las Vegas bodyguard with lethal professional skills and a personal gambling problem who strikes back when a friend of his is beaten by a sadistic thug. The problem is the sadistic thug is the son of a powerful mob boss. And that sounds exactly like any other Statham movie I've ever seen. Which in itself is not exactly a bad thing. Statham's films are usually the definition of B flicks, but some manage to be quite good. I particularly enjoyed 2012's "Safe" and 2011's "Killer Elite". What makes "Wild Card" a project with high expectations is the fact that it's directed by Simon West who once directed "Con Air" and has recently experienced a revival of sorts with "The Expendables 2", and it's written by two-time Oscar winning screenwriter William Goldman ("Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "All the President’s Men"). The cast also includes Anne Heche, Sofia Vergara, Jason Alexander, Hope Davis and Stanley Tucci.

"Wild Card" opens in theaters on January 30, 2015.

Check out the trailer and poster after the jump.
