The first trailer and posters for the biographical drama "Testament of Youth" have been released. The film is based on the World War I memoir of Vera Brittain, who is played by Alicia Vikander. Vera is an intelligent and free-spirited young woman who falls in love with her brother's friend Roland, but their romance is cut short by the onset of war. When Roland and her brother ship out to the front, she abandons her own safety and university life and volunteers as a nurse. The film also stars Taron Egerton, Emily Watson, Hayley Atwell, Colin Morgan, Joanna Scanlan, Alexandra Roach, Jonathan Bailey, Anna Chancellor, Nicholas Le Prevost, Nicholas Farrell, Dominic West and Miranda Richardson.

"Intelligent and free-spirited Vera overcomes the narrow-mindedness of her conservative parents, winning a scholarship to Oxford.
