A new trailer and poster have been released for David Koepp's "Mortdecai". The film is based on the novel by Kyril Bonfiglioli, but since I haven't read the book and have only this trailer to go on, I have a very bad feeling about this. I'm not sure exactly what I can expect from a film that has a character named Jock Strapp (played by Paul Bettany). Johnny Depp looks somewhat comfortable in yet another excentric role and it's possible his performance will be the only thing mildly watchable about this one. The cast also features Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Aubrey Plaza, Jeff Goldblum and Oliver Platt.
"Mortdecai" opens in theaters on January 23, 2015.

Official Synopsis
"Juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist, debonair art dealer and part time rogue Charlie Mortdecai (Depp) must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks and special charm in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold."
