The first trailer and poster for the romantic drama "The Best of Me" have been released. The film is an adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel that stays true to the Sparks brand of romance. Even the poster features the same trademark head-grabbing imagery that looks like every other movie based on the author's works. But, enough ranting for now. The new film stars James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan as a pair of former high school sweethearts who reunite after many years when they return to visit their small hometown. Michael Hoffman ("One Fine Day", "The Last Station") directs from a script by J. Mills Goodloe and Will Fetters. The cast also features Luke Bracy, Lina Liberato, Caroline Goodall and Gerald McRaney

"The Best of Me" opens in theaters on October 17th.
