EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS Trailer, Posters and Images: Christian Bale is Moses

First trailer for Exodus: Gods and Kings starring Christian Bale

The first trailer for Ridley Scott's Biblical epic "Exodus: Gods and Kings" has been released along with three posters and some new images. Christian Bale stars as Moses, the Old Testament prophet who rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton) and takes 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt. Of course, this looks more like Scott's "Gladiator" than Cecil B. DeMille's "The Ten Commandments", and the synopsis takes great pride in mentioning that the film employs "state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion" to tell the story.

While the director's modern visual style and the story's setting could be difficult to harmonize, I have faith that Ridley Scott is one of the few filmmakers who could pull it off. I'm a huge fan of "Kingdom of Heaven" (Director's Cut) and I hope I can add "Exodus" on my favorites list.

Aaron Paul, Ben Kingsley, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro also star. "Exodus: Gods and Kings" opens in theaters on December 5th.

Check out the trailer, posters and images after the jump.

Official Synopsis
"From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues."
