Mel Gibson in Talks to Star in 'BLOOD FATHER'
Deadline reports that Mel Gibson is currently in negotiations to star in the action-thriller "Blood Father" from director Jean-Francois Richet ("Mesrine"). The film's story, scripted by Peter Craig ("The Town") will focus on "an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her." Filming will begin in New Mexico this May. |

Robin Wright and Sam Worthington Join 'EVEREST'
Robin Wright ("House of Cards") and Sam Worthington ("Avatar") have joined the cast of director Baltasar Kormakur's survival drama "Everest". The film is currently in production and already stars Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin, John Hawkes, Jake Gyllenhaal, Martin Henderson, Emily Watson, Michael Kelly and Thomas M. Wright. Wright will star as "the wife of Brolin’s character, a doctor who fought the elements over an arduous night", and Worthington will play "Guy Cotter, a scaling expert from New Zealand." "Everest" will open in theaters on September 18, 2015.
Kevin Spacey to Play Winston Churchill in 'CAPTAIN OF THE GATE'
Kevin Spacey ("House of Cards") has signed on to star as Winston Churchill in the biopic "Captain of the Gate". The film is an independent production that will chronicle Churchill's "rise to power as he stood against parliament to defend Britain and the world from Adolf Hitler's Third Reich." Sierra/Affinity is producing and financing the project with a budget of $20 million and StudioCanal is in talks to join the production as a producer. The screenplay has been written by Ben Kaplan ("WWII in HD", "Reagan"). The producers are currently looking for a director.
Damian Lewis to Star in 'OUR KIND OF TRAITOR'
Golden Globe and Emmy winner Damian Lewis ("Homeland") has joined the cast of the spy thriller "Our Kind of Traitor". The film is an adaptation of a novel by John le Carre ("Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy") and it will be directed by Susanna White ("Parade's End", "Generation Kill") from a script by Hossein Amini ("Drive"). The plot will focus on "an English couple vacationing in Antigua who become entangled in the dealings of a Russian mobster desperate to defect. Soon enough, the British Secret Service is involved and the suspense kicks in." Damian Lewis will star as a member of British Intelligence. The film also stars Ewan McGregor, Stellan Skarsgard and Naomie Harris. Filming will begin in London.RELATED POSTS :
