The first clip for Paul W.S. Anderson's disaster epic "Pompeii" has been released. While the volcano is not the star of this clip, there's plenty of action as Kit Harington and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje engage in some gladiator fighting while Kiefer Sutherland and Jared Harris watch with evil looks on their faces. I'm a bit disappointed by this first look at the movie because so far the gladiator bits look like a direct rip-off of "Gladiator". Maybe Sony should just focus on the volcano stuff if they really want to sell this picture. The film also stars Emily Browning, Kiefer Sutherland, Jared Harris, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jessica Lucas and Paz Vega.

Official Synopsis
"A slave turned gladiator (Kit Harington) finds himself in a race against time to save his true love (Emily browning), who has been betrothed to a corrupt Roman Senator. As Mount Vesuvius erupts, he must fight to save his beloved as Pompeii crumbles around him"
