It's official that R2-D2 will be featured in "Star Wars: Episode VII". The news first came via The Wrap and it has been confirmed by director J.J. Abrams with the above image which was sent via Twitter. The behind-the-scenes image shows Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy alongside R2-D2 in the workshop where pre-production for the sequel is underway. Furthermore, it seems that a deal has been made to ensure that R2-D2 appears in all future "Star Wars" films.
