Weekend Box-Office Report (March 15-17, 2013)

James Franco in Oz the Great and Powerful

For the second weekend in a row "Oz the Great and Powerful" managed to rake in the most money, staying at #1 with $42 million, adding to a total of $145 million in 10 days. Disney demolished the competition over a relatively quiet weekend which offered only two new wide releases: the R-rated thriller "The Call" starring Halle Berry and the Las Vegas magicians comedy "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone" starring Steve Carell, Jim Carrey, Olivia Wilde and Steve Buscemi. Both movies debuted poorly at the box-office, opening at #2 and #3 respectively. But, since both are low-budget productions, they shouldn't have any problem recuperating their money.

More box-office details and the complete top 10, after the jump.

New Wide Releases: "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone", "The Call".

Weekend Total: aprox. $96M.

Biggest Drop : "Dead Man Down" (-61%)

Smallest Drop : "Escape from Planet Earth" (-27%)
