Above is the first image from the futuristic drama "The Rover" starring Guy Pearce and Robert Pattinson. Pearce stars as Eric, a man who has lost everything and sets out on a journey of revenge against a gang that has stolen his last possession (the synopsis does not reveal what that is). On this journey, he enlists the help of Rey (Pattinson), a junior member of the gang who was left behind during their last attack. Judging from the official image we see above, the relationship between the two men will be extremely tense. The film is written and directed by David Michod ("Animal Kingdom") and also stars Scoot McNairy, Susan Prior, Gillian Jones and Anthony Hayes. Release date to be announced. Here is the official synopsis :
"The film is set in the Australian desert, in a dangerous and damaged near future. Eric (Pearce) has left everything, everyone and every semblance of human kindness behind him when a gang of desperate criminals steals his last possession. Eric sets off on a ruthless mission to track them down, forced along the way to enlist the help of Rey (Pattinson), the naïve and injured junior member of the gang who was left behind in the chaos of the gang’s most recent robbery."
