8 New Movie Clips for THE COMPANY YOU KEEP

Susan Sarandon in The Company You Keep

We have 8 new movie clips for Robert Redford's thriller "The Company You Keep". It looks to be a fun old-school conspiracy thriller and one of its biggest assets is its cast. Are you ready for some big names ? Robert Redford, Shia LaBeouf, Susan Sarandon, Anna Kendrick, Chris Cooper, Terrence Howard, Brit Marling, Julie Christie, Sam Elliott, Brendan Gleeson, Richard Jenkins, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte and Jackie Evancho. Convinced ? I know I am. I only hope that it can find an audience and that it doesn't prove to be a pretentiously talky ensemble flop. "The Company You Keep" will be released on April 5, 2013.

Watch the clips after the jump.

  1. Why is there no mention of Jackie Evancho in the cast?

    1. True, she is in the cast, but this is her first major role and it's probably a brief one. I was only counting the major players in the movie.

  2. Sony Classics web site for the film lists her fifth:http://www.sonyclassics.com/thecompanyyoukeep.

    1. Indeed they do. In writing the post I aimed to present the movie as having a heavy-caliber cast.

After reading you comments, I did some research on Jackie Evancho, and although this would be her first feature film, I see she has some recognition as a singer. According to Wikipedia she is an "American classical crossover singer who gained wide recognition at an early age and, since 2009, has issued five albums, including a platinum and gold album and three Billboard 200 top 10 debuts."

Sony is probably just aiming to capitalize on some of her popularity since I bet her role will be small, especially compared to the size of the ensemble cast, but I suppose she should be counted in with the others. I will add her to the cast list.

Thank you for the heads up.

    2. Now, the question I have is: Did the Wikipedia article stir your interest? If you have some interest in classical orchestra music, search on YOUTube. Classical Crossover is traditional popular songs and show tunes sung in classical stile and operatic arias sung in a less operatic style.

There are videos on YOUTube from when she was 8 (she will be 13 on April 9), six appearances on Americas' Got Talent, two different shows from PBS Great Performances, various TV appearances and two concert tours. Do not be concerned if you cannot understand the Italian or French lyrics in the arias, just listen to what she can do with her voice. She had almost no formal voice training before AGT. She is a certified prodigy genius.
