The official synopsis for the "Star Trek" sequel has been released. "Star Trek Into Darkness" is directed by J.J. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are set to join "X-Men: Days of Future Past", the sequel to last year's "X-Men: First Class", as Professor Xavier and Magneto. James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult will reprise their roles from the prequel. "Days of Future Past" will be directed by Bryan Singer ("X-Men", "X2") and is expected to borrow the story arc of the comic book with the same title, which takes place in 2013 and features a dystopian future inhabited by Sentinels.


Cate Blanchett is in negotiations to star as the evil stepmother in Disney's new "Cinderella" project directed by Mark Romanek ("One Hour Photo", "Never Let Me Go"). The script for the film was written by Aline Brosh McKenna ("The Devil Wears Prada") and rewriten by Chris Weitz ("About a Boy"). Amanda Seyfried is rumored to be in the running for the title role.
