The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards have come and gone. The only real surprises were in the Television category (like Kelsey Grammer's and Matt LeBlanc's wins). An even bigger surprise, though, was not about who-won-what. The most surprising element of the evening was the mild comic performance by host Ricky Gervais whose only radical exercise in biting humor was the use of an F-Bomb when refering to the fact that he could not understand what presenters Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek had said, although, I honestly found it to be less funny than Gervais probably hoped it would be. Anyway, despite the hype of his return as host after last year's scathing performance, he gave a much more subdued performance, which was probably the enforced condition for reprising his hosting duties in 2012.
