In Theaters : TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY (2011)

Official Synopsis : Based on the classic novel of the same name, the international thriller is set at the height of the Cold War years of the mid-20th Century. George Smiley (Gary Oldman), a disgraced British spy, is rehired in secret by his government - which fears that the British Secret Intelligence Service, a.k.a. MI-6, has been compromised by a double agent working for the Soviets.

Genre: Thriller

What to Expect : A fine addition to the spy thriller genre. Excellent performances and tense atmosphere add up to a solid adaptation of Le CarrĂ©'s novel. "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" is a must see for anyone looking for a suspenseful espionage adventure.

Critical Response : Positive. This Cold War spy game ranked high among critics, most of whom fell in love with the plot's paranoid mood and strong cast. One critic complained that this movie is far less impressive (and complete) than the 1979 5-hour BBC miniseries. Other than that, the general opinion is that it's a well constructed and immersive thriller. Rated 90% on Rottentomatoes.com from 80 positive and 9 negative reviews.
