There were a lot of rumors that mentioned the fact that the Bale-Nolan Batman series will end with "The Dark Knight Rises", but fans were hoping they were just that, rumors. Unfortunately for them (and Warner Bros.), leading man Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan have officially confirmed that they will not continue their work on the franchise after next year's third installment. Bale declared in a recent interview : "I wrapped a few days ago so that will be the last time I'm taking that cowl off," Bale said "I believe the whole production wrapped yesterday, so it's all done. Everything's finished. It's me and Chris - that will be the end of that Batman era." This of course means that Warner will have to let Batman go for a while, or, they could start all over again in the same way as "Spiderman". Although I hate all this rebooting going on lately, I do understand that the pressure of fans and box-office results will probably force Warner to rethink the future of the franchise. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes though, because it's really hard to follow up Nolan's brilliant work on the series. As confirmation of a possible Batman reboot is the statement made by a Warner Bros. executive, which I talked about in the following article : Batman Gets Rebooted
