What to Expect : The second season promises even more of the mix of bloody violence and steamy sex that is the trademark of the series. I'm not among the fans of this series, but it's nice to see a TV series attempting to go outside the boundaries of televisions, even if it's just because they're trying to titilate our primal senses for ratings. Unfortunately, Andy Whitfield, the actor playing Spartacus, passed away yesterday. May he rest in peace. Because Whitfield was unavailable to shoot season 2 last year, due to his illness, the idea for the prequel came up and became "Gods of the Arena". They'll still continue with season 3, but with a different actor in the leading role.
