In Theaters : THE CHANGE-UP (2011)

Official Synopsis : Growing up together, Mitch (Ryan Reynolds) and Dave (Jason Bateman) were inseparable best friends, but as the years have passed they've slowly drifted apart. While Dave is an overworked lawyer, husband and father of three, Mitch has remained a single, quasi-employed man-child who has never met a responsibility he liked. Following a drunken night out together, Mitch and Dave's worlds are turned upside down when they wake up in each other's bodies and proceed to freak the &*#@ out. Despite the freedom from their normal routines and habits, the guys soon discover that each other's lives are nowhere near as rosy as they once seemed. -- (C) Universal Pictures

Genre: Comedy

What to Expect : Raunchy body-switching comedy. "Freaky Friday" it is not. If you still haven't had enough of gross-out comedies this year, then "The Change-up" is the right movie for you. From the writers of "The Hangover"

Critical Response : Negative. No mixed feelings here. Critics skewered the movie for being a tired rehash of an all-too-familiar plot that not even the juvenile humor can elevate. Most reviewers acknowledged that Bateman and Reynolds are fun as they switch personalitites, but other than that, there's no good reason for this movie to even exist. One critic sums the movie up as "gimmicky, shallow and witless".
