THE HANGOVER Will Become a Trilogy

With "The Hangover Part 2" being released onto the world next week, director Todd Phillips has recently been quizzed about his intentions towards another sequel. While he indeed acknowledged that his initial intentions were to make a Hangover trilogy, he said he has not yet taken the idea of another sequel into consideation. Sure he hasn't. And we seriously believe him. Here's the full quote :

"If we were to do a third one, and quite honestly we really haven’t talked about it as we just finished the movie two weeks ago, this is the first time we’ve all been together in awhile. If we were to do a third one, if the audience, if the desire was there, I think we have a clear idea where that would head and it’s certainly not in the same template you’ve seen these movies and obviously we always envisioned it as a trilogy as you can imagine, the third would very much be a finale and an ending."

Of course, the whole concept of a sequel depends on whether or not the movie in question is successful. Otherwise, finding financial support could prove to be problematic, not to mention the prospect of another sequel might anger potentialy disappointed movie-goers. Still, Phillips has proved to be quite gifted when it comes to his personal brand of comedy, so who knows, Part 2 might still prove to be a hit.
