Oh, dear, it's another one of those conspiracy thrillers that tell us everything we know is false. A political
thriller about who actually wrote the plays of William Shakespeare--
Edward De Vere, Earl of Oxford-- set against the backdrop of the
succession of Queen Elizabeth I, and the Essex Rebellion against her. And it's all directed by Ronald "end-of-days" Emmerich. Not surprisingly, it has an epic scope complete with sweeping CGI vistas that will thrill all you historians out there. Honestly, it feels a bit like a period piece "The Da Vinci Code". I bet it could get interesting if Godzilla makes a cameo. Or, at least the alien mothership from "Independence Day".
